Project Update – Travel Phoenix Oregon Visitor Guide & Brine, Brew & Barrel Fermentation Festival
Overview
Our Strategic Investment Fund was launched in 2022 to provide timely support for high-value destination development or marketing projects that positively impact Southern Oregon. For the 2022 cycle, we focused on visitor-facing outdoor recreation work, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and event support for new or impactful culinary and cultural experiences.
Travel Phoenix Oregon Visitor Guide
We are excited to share our investment in the 2023 Travel Phoenix Oregon Visitor Guide. In collaboration with local businesses, the newly formed DMO – Travel Phoenix Oregon – developed content, photography, and designed the guide. Distribution to Travel Oregon’s Welcome Centers will get the stories into the hands of visitors across the state.
The Visitor Guide has been a hit locally, with the City of Phoenix government displaying it prominently in their City Hall. At a recent meeting of Oregon’s League of Cities, hosted at the City of Phoenix Civic Center, the Visitor Guide was distributed and shared with every member in attendance.
We are thrilled to have played a part in the success of this project. The print version of the Visitor Guide has been particularly valuable, providing a tangible resource for visitors to plan their trips and explore the area.
Brine, Brew & Barrel Fermentation Festival
We are thrilled to share with you the success of the Brine, Brew & Barrel Fermentation Festival in Ashland, Oregon. This annual festival celebrates the art of fermentation and has quickly become a beloved tradition in Southern Oregon.
The mid-January 2023 festival was a tremendous success, with over 35 vendors, hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and fully booked accommodations. This shoulder season festival sold out the Brew Bash dinner at the Ashland Springs Hotel and the Hot Sauce & Bloody Mary Brunch on Sunday.
The educational sessions were well received, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to learn about fermentation and gain new skills. Based on the positive feedback, the festival will expand to two full days of Vendor Marketplace in 2024.
The success of the Brine, Brew & Barrel Fermentation Festival is a testament to the Strategic Investment Fund’s impact on high-value destination development and marketing projects in Southern Oregon.
