Crooked Barn Vineyards

Spread out across five acres, Marcos and Heidi Martins, the owners, of Crooked Barn Vineyards are proud to grow four red Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec. Applegate Valley’s Mediterranean climate and its south-facing hillsides develop flavor and quality in the grapes. The steep slopes ensure that harvest can only be done manually, and maintenance of the vineyard is made possible only by the use of a tractor crawler.

The property was developed in 1913 and has primarily been used to graze cattle and for a time, raise foxes. Crooked Barn Vineyards has 40 farmable acres and 28 beautiful acres of madrone and oak woodland forest. Marcos and Heidi aspire to maintain the property’s original spirit, the namesake of the winery included, the Crooked Barn itself.

They believe in the philosophy of organic farming methods and land stewardship, and they strive to leave the land richer than it was found.
