Sip the Day Away on the Umpqua Valley Wine Trail

From small boutique wineries to sprawling estates you will be delighted at the variety of wines that only southern Oregon can offer.  The Umpqua Valley is home to more than 30 family owned and operated wineries opening fine new wineries and tasting rooms in 2018, adding to their unique varietals.  We have all of the details for you!

Canyonville

Falk Estate Vineyards

With views of the south Umpqua River their tasting room offers outdoor seating along with their homey tasting room.  They serve a full lineup of red and white wines with the majority of their grapes being estate grown.

Elkton

Lexeme Wines

A boutique winery located just south of Elkton with a tasting room in town on the main street.  They serve Viognier, Gamay, Pinot Noir, and Tempranillo alongside small plates.

Oakland

Spire Mountain Cellars

Located in the historic town of Oakland  on the foothill of the Tyee Mountain, their tasting room has a rustic barn feel that opens up to views of gorgeous green rolling hills and an open patio.  Their estate wines include Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and a Rosé.

Roseburg

JosephJane Winery

They offer a full lineup of whites and reds including a special Lavender Wine with a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling infused with locally grown lavender.  They have a beautiful tasting room with an outdoor patio that includes a fire pit to warm up by.  If you have a non-wine drinker in your group they also serve local beer from Two Shy Brewing.

Trella Vineyard

A family-owned boutique vineyard with a tasting room in downtown Roseburg, they serve a wide variety of whites including the unique Gruner Veltliner, Austrian varietal, and reds.  At their tasting room you can nibble from charcuterie boards and enjoy dessert while listening to live music.

Wine Events

In addition to these newer wineries and vineyards you can visit any of the more than 30 wineries in the Umpqua Valley throughout the year, but if you don’t have time to venture out on your own you can attend their two main wine events in April and May.

Greatest of the Grape

This annual event is held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds with 28 wineries participating ALL from the Umpqua Valley.  Enjoy wine tasting alongside appetizer pairings from gourmet food artisans.  This year it will be held on April 13th.  Get your tickets HERE.

Umpqua Valley Barrel Tour

Choose your tour from four different itineraries that include five or six wineries.  Food will be paired with wines at each winery while you are driven around by bus.  This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 4th.  Get your tickets HERE.

Visiting the Umpqua Valley wineries you will be immersed in a one of a kind experience.  You are often able to speak with the winemakers getting the inside details of wine making and vineyard life.  You don’t want to miss out on all that the Umpqua Valley has to offer so add it to your must do vacation list.  You won’t regret it!
