Vineyard Stays in the Umpqua Valley

Stay among the vines and getaway to these Umpqua Valley vineyards

The Umpqua is home to more than 30 wineries. From charming boutique wineries where you can speak with the actual winemakers to sprawling estates that are some of the oldest in the state, wine tasting is definitely a favorite leisure activity for visitors and locals alike. In recent years more and more Umpqua wineries are enriching your experience, hosting winemaker dinners, live music, and family-friendly festivals, and now you can immerse yourself even more and stay right on some vineyards!

Meadows Estate Winery

Located in the historic town of Oakland, Meadows Estate is owned by the sweetest couple Dexter and Marilyn Meadows. Just 15 minutes from Sutherlin and 20 minutes from Roseburg, you can have sweet dreams in their house that sleeps up to fourteen or if you’d like, just reserve the cottage that sleeps four.

The cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed and to add more sleep space they offer roll away beds. The main house has two dining areas, a huge living room, and three bedrooms with panoramic views of their vineyards. Downstairs a large entertainment room awaits with a bar, a bedroom with two bunk beds, and a large sauna that can fit at least ten. If you want to do some wine tasting, the tasting room is just a two minute walk up the road. Soon they will be offering another house to stay in right below the vineyard, get more details and reserve here.

Whitetail Ridge Vineyard

Whitetail Ridge isn’t just a vineyard, it’s an actual working farm. This stay is definitely for adventure lovers that really want to escape with a feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere. Getaway to a tiny house decked out with everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Sleep on a cozy loft bed. Cook in a mini kitchen with a coffee bar, and a refrigerator stocked with their own farm fresh eggs and house made goat cheeses. Since it’s quite a drive to get to your stay, Tammy and Rob make sure you have all the essentials to cook your own meals. On the deck they’ve extended your living space with outdoor furniture, a barbecue, a micro-garden (you can snip your own greens), and sweeping views of the Umpqua Valley. Wine tasting is literally across the road in their barrel room, and on nice days enjoy their wine deck with more phenomenal views of the area.

While you are staying, catch the farm in action. See goats being milked, and say hi to the resident Kuni-Kuni pigs, a rabbit, and their Grand Pyrenees. If you’d like to get out for some hiking or mountain biking, enjoy miles of private trails only open to their guests. You truly feel like you are away yet only minutes from neighboring wineries and only thirty minutes from downtown Roseburg. See all of the details and book your stay here.

Girardet Vineyards

Enjoy sipping wine at one of Oregon’s oldest wineries and then stay at Girardet’s vineyard cottage tucked among the vines.  Marc and Kristie have thought of every detail with fresh eggs from their own chickens in the fridge and French press coffee for your pleasure. Watch the rising sun from the back deck and then hike up their hill to enjoy the views and relax in the perfectly placed hammock.

The tasting room is just a walk up the hill with both indoor and outdoor seating along with a retro video arcade game to play Miss PacMan and other classics. Girardet’s whimsy can be seen with little touches all throughout the tasting room, on the vineyard, and the chalet making for an enchanting stay in the Umpqua Valley. Book your stay here.
