Spring is fast approaching so that means the spring veggies are coming, along with all of the goodness that summer brings. Visitors and locals both enjoy finding farm fresh produce at our growers and farmers markets indulging in the best of each season. It’s a great way to get a pulse on our local communities along with sampling many of the artisans and growers that you may meet on our Umpqua Valley and Rogue Valley Food Trails.
Grants Pass Growers Market
The Grants Pass Growers Market started in 1980 and is the largest of Southern Oregon’s growers markets with over 120 vendors on any given Saturday, spring into fall. Not only can you enjoy shopping vendors and artisans, but connect with a number of nonprofits as well as enjoy a variety of entertainers, including musicians, jugglers, and sometimes even a mime!
You can shop at the Grants Pass Growers Market every Saturday, mid-March through October, 9 am to 1 pm in downtown Grants Pass at 4th & F Street. Shop their winter market at the Josephine County Fairgrounds, November into February.
Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market
The Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market accommodates more than 100 vendors that sell their farm fresh produce, flowers, artisan foods, handcrafted goods, and a variety of food trucks. In March they launch the Tuesday market in Ashland and Thursday market in Medford, which runs until the week before Thanksgiving in November.
Shop the Ashland market from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the National Guard Armory and the Medford market 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at Hawthorne Park. As spring rolls into summer the Rogue Valley Growers Market Saturday market starts in May and runs through October in downtown Ashland on Oak Street from 8:30 am to 1 pm.
Klamath Falls Farmers Market
The Klamath Falls Farmers Market starts later in the year waiting for the fresh bounty, starting in May and getting into full swing in June when produce is at its peak. Enjoy local music, while you shop local farms, handmade goods, and food artisans. You can also grab a bite from your choice of fresh food vendors including Latin and Thai specialties.
You can shop every Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm in downtown Klamath Falls on 9th Street between Main Street and Klamath Falls.
Umpqua Valley Farmers’ Market
Shop the Umpqua Valley Farmers’ Market year round, rain or shine. The amount of vendors depends on the season but you are sure to get the freshest produce and artisan goods every Saturday. As the weather warms up, enjoy special events, live entertainment, and seasonal goods.
Shop every Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm at 1771 W. Harvard Avenue in the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church. Shop indoors in the winter.
As you can see some of our largest markets are in Grants Pass, Medford, Ashland, Klamath Falls, and the Umpqua Valley but many of our smaller communities have their own offerings including Canyonville, the Illinois Valley, Williams, Applegate, Talent, Jacksonville and more.
