Cavitt Creek Falls Recreation Site

Overview:

Away from the busier North Umpqua Corridor, Cavitt Creek Falls recreation Site is a favorite of locals. Surrounded by a forest of fir, maple, and cedar trees, the swimming hole at the base of a six foot waterfall on Cavitt Creek is a welcome discovery on a hot day. Salmon and Steelhead leap the falls from September through April. Cavitt Creek and Little River are open to trout fishing with artificial flies and lures only, from late May through mid September. Contact Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for their Oregon Sport fishing regulations and exact season dates. Maximum 34-foot vehicle length.

Know Before You Go:

Ten campsites, day use area with tables and grill, drinking water, vault restrooms, stairway to swimming area. Check-in: 1:00 pm Check-out: 11:00 am.

Pets in campgrounds must be physically restrained by owner on a six foot or shorter leash. No dogs
allowed in swimming area.

Season: May 20 – September 26

Point of Interest:

Cavitt Creek is the Roseburg BLMs least accessible recreation site because of the three terraced levels the campground is constructed on. Renovations have upgraded access for people who use wheelchairs to parking areas, individual campsites, restrooms, and water spigots. The water play area is not accessible, but the day use area does have an accessible falls viewing spot.
