Earth Scouts! Can Drive Spring 2023

March 25 - March 25

IVCanDonate is a bottle and can donation program in downtown Cave Junction in which all of the proceeds go to local Illinois Valley kids’ programs, and most recently nonprofit organizations! IVCanDonate is sponsored by IVCDO (Illinois Valley Community Development Organization) who uplift local programs. We are excited to raise funds for our Earth Scouts! Program, an inclusive outdoor skill-building school for teens and adults. On Saturday March 23, 2023 from 10AM-2PM, bring your “Oregon 10¢ Redeemable” cans and bottles to the IVCanDonate shipping container behind Coffee Heaven and Caves Chevron (the corner of Caves Highway and Redwood Highway 199). We can accept all cans and plastic bottles that have “OR-10” written on the top, bottom, or side. We cannot accept wine or liquor bottles. Redeemable containers can be brought in: reusable storage bins, cardboard boxes, paper bags, and garbage bags.

Southern Oregon’s Signature Trails

It’s no secret that Oregon’s wilderness is second to none. With remote lakes, snowy peaks and storybook forests of ancient trees dripping in moss and awe, the state’s untrammeled beauty belongs to those who hike.

Southern Oregon Wildflower Hikes

I reached out to our Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to add to my list of favorite wildflower hikes in our region and we chose our favorites to bring you a combination of easy, family-friendly hikes and some a little more technical for advanced hikers.
