Sprague River Park Day Use Area

Uniquely located in a canyon setting, the Sprague River Day Use Area has a community park feel with numerous picnic sites, a covered group area, horseshoe pits and designated volleyball area. This day use area, located about five minutes southeast of Bly, Oregon, is a typical high desert riparian area with cottonwood and willow trees and other shrub-like vegetation next to a winding river.

Situated on the south fork of the Sprague River, visitors can bike, hike the half-mile riverside trail, swim, or try fly or reel fishing from the banks of the river. Facilities include picnic tables, campfire rings, BBQ pedestals, potable water and four vault toilets. There is also a kiosk within the Sprague River Day Use Area that highlights the history of the area.

Alert: There is a limited source of firewood so it is recommended that the public bring their own firewood or charcoal. The access road is steep and winding and not recommended for long trailers or motor homes.
