In downtown Oakland, a history museum about the town. Exhibits depicting the railroad, doctor’s office, general store, and “rooms” of earlier life plus photographs and much more. Oakland is a unique and charming little town in southwestern Oregon just 2 miles off Interstate 5. The two block business district consists of the original brick buildings built in the 1890’s. Stearns Hardware, for example, has served this community since 1887! Over 80 properties here were constructed between 1852 and 1890. Open 12:30-3:30 daily, closed Holidays. No admission charge, donations appreciated.
