Website traffic for Travel Southern Oregon continues to grow, especially on mobile platforms. In all, 8,244 users visited the site during May, a 700-user jump over April and a tick above May 2014.
Not surprisingly, with our increased social media emphasis the percentage of users reaching us on mobile devices continues to grow. A record high 46% of Travel Southern Oregon website visitors use a phone or tablet.
What are these users looking for?
We track our top 20 pages each month and the results are fairly consistent. The "things to do" section always performs well as do the lodging, city and regional pages, and member directory. Specific topics of interest in May included the coast, waterfalls, hiking, wines, scenic drives and tours. We're happy to note April's Crater Lake boat tour article scored well in May as did Bonnie's Ryan's Out & About feature on Oregon Wine Month.
Advertising performance on the Travel Southern Oregon website remains strong. In all, 45,467 impressions gained 696 clicks (1.54%). All leaderboard advertisements earned at 1.45% click throughs while ads on our targeted Digital Magazine section of the site averaged 3.69%.
