1. Rogue
Valley Creamery - Step inside the unassuming cinderblock creamery to
discover an assortment of some of the best hand-milled cheddar cheese in the world.
There are delicacies to delight every palette. The Rogue Creamery, home of Rogue
River Blue, the finest blue cheese in the world. This drive starts in Central
Point heading north off of Exit 33. Go over the freeway. Turn right on Pine St.
Turn Right on North Front St. Creamery is located half a block up on your left
2. House of Mystery/Oregon
Vortex - Back on I-5 heading north discover The Oregon Vortex. It's
a glimpse of a strange world where the improbable is the commonplace and everyday
physical facts are reversed. It is an area of naturally occurring visual and perceptual
phenomena, which can be captured on film. No matter your education or profession
you will find a challenge to all your accepted theories. Exit 40 off of I-5. Turn
left at Highway 99. Follow Highway 99, 2 miles through Gold Hill. Turn right at
the large billboard onto Sardine Creek Road. Follow Sardine Creek Road for 3 miles
and continue left at the fork, following the creek. Follow Sardine Creek Left
Fork Road 1.3 miles to The Oregon Vortex.
3. Del Rio Vineyards looks
over Southern Oregon's Rogue River between the Cascade and Siskiyou mountain ranges.
Our soil, rolling hills, alluvial fans and southern exposure comprise a foundation
for great wine making. A visit to Del Rio will be one of many memorable stops
while in the Rogue Valley. Take Interstate 5 North to Exit 43. Turn Right off
freeway ramp and then right onto Highway 99. Continue across bridge over Rogue
River. Turn Left on North River Road. Take the first right into Del Rio Vineyards.
4. Valley of the Rogue State Park is a pleasant green oasis ikn in
Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley. Valley of the Rogue Park has both a day-use picnic
area and an overnight campground along three miles of shoreline on the Rogue River
Oregon. Exit 45 B and follow the signs. This park also offers free Internet wireless
access.
5. Historic
Downtown Grants Pass - "Where the Rogue River Runs". An historic downtown
district offers an array of antique, craft and specialty shops as well as museums
and art galleries. One of Oregon's largest growers and crafters markets is in
full-swing twice weekly from early spring into the fall. Annual celebrations such
as Boatnik, Art Along the Rogue and the Magical Musical Christmas Murals. Exit
58. Turn left on to 6th St/Highway 199. 6th Street will lead you right in to the
heart of downtown.
6. Rogue Valley Fudge will make your day a little
sweeter. Their handmade fudge is made with real cream and butter which ensures
the creamiest and richest fudge on the market. Just one bite of their melt-in-your-mouth
regular or sugar free fudge and you will taste the flavor, the freshness and the
quality that we're so proud to serve! Rogue Valley Fudge is located in the heart
of downtown Grants Pass on 6th Street. Their address is 229 SE 6th St. 7th Street
will take you back to Interstate 5.
7. Wolf Creek Inn/Wolf Creek - Today,
the Wolf Creek Inn has nine guest rooms that offer charming overnight accommodations.
The Wolf Creek Inn Restaurant offers a diverse menu, which makes the most of fresh
Oregon ingredients and offers daily specials, seafood, home-baked bread and delectable
desserts. Many famous folks visited the inn, including President Hayes, Jack London,
Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Fredric March and Patrick Stewart, to name just a
few. Just 3 miles out of Wolf Creek is the town of Golden, an Historic District
listed on the National Register of Historic Places (July 2002). Exit 76 and follow
the signs.
