Riverside Park-Grants Pass Oregon
The highlight of Grants Pass is the mighty
Rogue River flowing through town. Riverside Park is located right on the Rogue
River and is a wonderful place to picnic and walk along the Rogue. The city is
often referred to the "whitewater rafting capital" of Oregon and a mecca for Southern
Oregon travel. More than 25 outfitters offer rafting adventures in Grants Pass
and nearby Merlin.

Applegate Valley
The Applegate Valley is the middle of three adjacent river
valleys extending from the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains along the California
border to the Rogue River in the north. These three valleys roughly define
the boundaries of the Rogue Valley AVA. In 2001, the application for American
Viticultural Area (AVA) status for the Applegate Valley was authorized, making
it the sixth official wine region in Oregon State.

Located
in the Applegate Valley wine country. Champagne Cellars is a boutique winery producing
limited, award winning, estate bottled, premium champagne and still wines. This
appellation produces wines of intense character and complexity. We specialize

4. Jacksonville Vineyards
1,600 feet above sea level with afternoon
westerly breezes that keep our clear air moving, Jacksonville Vineyards, which
are in rows aligned north-south, receive just the right sun, moisture, and indeed,
perfect growing conditions to give us extremely well ripened fruit each fall.
Today there is growing public awareness of the wines of the Applegate Valley.
Designated as an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 2002 for it's micro-climate,
the Applegate Valley is unique and unlike any other region in Oregon.
Combined
with our commitment to outstanding practices, our vineyards bear fruit that produces
some of the best wine grapes grown in the Applegate Valley and are equal to some

5. Historic Jacksonville Oregon
In 1966, Jacksonville was
designated a national historic landmark. More than 100 buildings are on the National
Register of Historic Places. With a dynamic vision of the future that simultaneously
incorporates its glorious past, Jacksonville is booming once again. Ask someone
who has visited recently and you may here a very familiar phrase…."It's Gold!"
Here
you also will find the Jacksonville Museum is in a brick and stone Italianate
building built in 1883 that formerly served as the courthouse, until the county
seat was moved to Medford. There is a section featuring the works of Peter Britt,
as well as exhibits on the history of the Oregon and California Railroad in the
Rogue Valley, mining, the Chinese, and Jacksonville history in general.
The
nearby Children's Museum is housed in the 1910 Jackson County Jail. It has exhibits
including old fashioned toys, walk through exhibits for a pioneer jail, kitchen
and tepee and a collection of Vance Colvig memorabilia and cartoons. Vance ("Pinto")
Colvig, a Jacksonville native, was the voice for many Walt Disney characters,
including Goofy, Grumpy (in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), and Pluto. He was

6. Valley View Vineyards
Located in the nationally recognized historic
town of Jacksonville, in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon, Valley View Vineyard
was originally established by pioneer Peter Britt in the 1850's. The name has
since been restored by the Wisnovsky family for their vineyard and winery established
in 1972 in the beautiful Applegate Valley nine miles from Jacksonville. The tasting
room is opened from 11-5, daily. The room is located in the heart of Jacksonville.

7. Britt Music Festival
This
is the Pacific Northwest's premiere outdoor summer performing arts festival. Located
in the historic 1850s gold rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon, Britt presents dozens
of summer concerts, featuring world-class artists in classical music, dance, jazz,
blues, folk, bluegrass, world, pop and country music. Britt's performance venue
is a naturally formed amphitheater set among majestic ponderosa pines and native
madrones on the beautiful hillside estate of 19th century photographer Peter Britt.
