Reedsport-Winchester
Bay is an outdoor lover's dream with three beautiful and scenic bodies of water:
the Smith River, Scholfield Creek and the Umpqua River. Experience more than 17
fresh water lakes within a 20-mile radius.
And
the ocean and rivers offer a variety of seafood, such as Chinook and Coho salmon,
bottom fish, striped and small mouth bass, steelhead. sturgeon, shad, pink fin
perch, Dungeness crab, clams and oysters.
The
neighboring towns of Reedsport, Gardiner and Winchester Bay are located on the
Umpqua River, in the Heart of the Oregon Dunes.
We're
also the home of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and some of the highest
sand dunes in the United States, stretching 47 miles from Florence to North Bend,
with Reedsport- Winchester Bay located right in the middle.
Just
four miles east of Reedsport on Highway 38 is the Dean Creek Elk viewing area
that is home to approximately 100-150 majestic Roosevelt Elk.
Visit
Winchester Bay for a wonderful mixture of specialty shops, gourmet dining, charter
fishing and sightseeing excursion boats, oyster farming, campgrounds, a beach
for strolling on, sand dunes to explore and a 100-year-old lighthouse.
