2010 SOVA CO-OP PROGRAMS - JOIN US TODAY!

Since its first co-op marketing effort in 1985, SOVA has raised and invested more than $6 million in regional advertising, and 95% of these funds have come from SOVA partners. Annually, under the direction of the Marketing/RCMP Committee, SOVA develops 20+ cooperative advertising programs. See a list of current campaigns.

SOVA RCMP

SOVA serves as the Regional Destination Marketing Organization (RDMO) for Region 5. The program under which the regional portion of the 1% lodging tax is distributed back to the regions from whence it came is titled the Regional Cooperative Marketing Program (RCMP). RCMP research data available

In 2006, SOVA launched a comprehensive visitor research project using RCMP funds. Collecting visitor data from more than a dozen locations (visitors centers and attractions) in seven counties, this study is Oregon’s largest regional visitor profile research project. About 10,000 surveys were collected over two years.

Southern Oregon Visitors Guide

The Southern Oregon Vacation Guide is the most-read guide to Southern Oregon for 20 years. It is the only regional guide distributed throughout seven Southern Oregon counties (Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Coos, Curry, Klamath and Lake). It is also distributed at all State Welcome Centers, at Crater Lake National Park, the Portland, Eugene, and Medford airports, AAA offices, chamber of commerce and visitors centers throughout the NW and northern California, and more. The guide contains maps, RV and camping information, wine and culinary tours, scenic byways, and more. See information and advertising rates.

SOVA public relations

SOVA coordinates numerous research trips for travel writers and group tour planners every year. In 2008, we hosted a group of 25 writers from the International Food & Wine Travel Writers Association. This “fam” (familiarization) conference, along with numerous ongoing efforts, has resulted in hundreds of stories about Southern Oregon. See links to these and other stories.

Internet Marketing

SOVA’s partners cite Internet exposure as one of the chief benefits of their participation in SOVA. All partners have their 40-word listing and web link included in multiple categories on this website.
